Build 26H1 is positioned as a preview of the upcoming major feature set slated for late‑2026. Early testers can explore a revamped file‑explorer layout, AI‑driven search suggestions, and tighter integration with Microsoft 365 cloud services.
- Enhanced file‑explorer with contextual side pane
- AI‑assisted search that surfaces relevant documents as you type
- Seamless OneDrive sync with automatic conflict resolution
How to get the new builds
Windows Insiders on the Release Preview channel can download the updates via Settings → Windows Update. The builds are also available as ISO images for clean installations on the Windows Insider Program portal.
Microsoft recommends backing up important data before installing preview builds, as they may contain bugs that could affect system stability.
We’re excited to share these previews with the community and look forward to feedback that will help shape the final release.
